**Need to speak with pictures in order for them to learn how to speak with pictures; if you want someone to learn French, you need to speak to them in French
**Can be used with low tech (binder/laminated pages) or high tech (iPad)
**Must talk about things that the student finds interesting, motivating and useful.
**Start off slow and simple (crackers = Do you want to eat crackers or Eat your crackers)
**Build to add other words in the sentence.
**Should be used about 20 times per hour
**Aided language should be used in a turn taking manner
By the time a child is 18 months 4400hrs of language...8hrs of language/day
10 minutes/day of Aided Language would take 84yrs to acquire the same amount of language
Number one item on a student's IPP should be to use their communication device for something...math, taking coffee orders, delivering items around the school, etc...
Extremely impressed by everyone's Proloquo2go presentations...the variety of activities that were created with each of the three students in mind were exceptional.
We chose Ruby as our test student and created a variation of "Go Fish" to give her the opportunity to work on her sharing skills and deepen her name/face association of her classmates.
